Pro Plant Care’s Annual School Supply Drive

In conjunction with the Lethbridge Food Bank, Pro Plant Care does an annual School Supply Drive for students who otherwise would not have the school supplies needed to start the new school year. The drive started in September 2003 with our staff and has grown in 2004 to include our clients and EWI members. We want to help ensure that children who might not be able to afford items on their school list receive them so that they could have a successful start in their new grade.

Lethbridge Outreach Schools Interior Plant Program

Since 2003 Pro Plant Care has provided up to 27 tropical plants/trees with weekly maintenance free of charge to the Lethbridge Outreach Schools; which include A’sitapiksi, Community Outreach School, Downtown L.A. Program and the Lethbridge Outreach High School (LOHS). All of which are located on the 3rd floor of the BLT Building, providing the students and staff with a healthier and more attractive environment in which to carry out their important educational goals.

The Community Outreach School is a district program for 12 students in grades 6 to 9. Students who have experienced little success in a traditional setting can be referred to this program from middle schools within Lethbridge School District No. 51.The Downtown L A Program is a regional program designed to help alleviate mental health concerns in 12 to 17 year olds in a setting which meets their academic and psycho-social needs. Through therapy these youth can receive a level of care which greatly enhances their opportunity to integrate into the main stream education program and be successful in graduating and becoming productive citizens.  Website

Lethbridge Food Bank

Pro Plant Care donated food and clothing several times a year to the Lethbridge Food Bank. Our biggest food collection drive is in October at Thanksgiving. Lesley was on the Harmony for Hunger organizing committee and helped raise $21,000.00 for the Food Bank.

Junior Achievement

In 2004 Pro Plant Care sponsored the Lethbridge On Board - Board Game designed to raise money for Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta; in which sponsors donate money by purchasing a block on the board game Sponsor Page.  Lethbridge On Board is extremely exciting, one-of-a-kind fundraising program based on the famous "opoly" style real estate trading game.

Junior Achievement (JA) is an international not-for-profit organization committed to teaching young people about business.  Primarily supported by the business community, JA provides programs to Southern Alberta youth free of charge. Website.

The Kinsman Dream Home - 2003

Pro Plant Care provided all the plants and maintenance for this worthwhile cause for 2 months free of charge. The Kinsmen Dream Home Lotto is proud to be a local project keeping your money in southern Alberta.
